Fletcher Tilton is proud to announce that Attorney Anne Grenier will be presenting at the upcoming Profound Autism Summit, a significant two-day conference scheduled for April 2025.

Grenier will lend her expertise to a panel discussion titled “Legal Considerations Caring for an Adult With Profound Autism,” taking place on April 10, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 5:50 PM. She will be joined by panelists Meredith Greene of Day Pitney and Joan McGrath.

During the panel, Grenier will provide a comprehensive overview of alternatives to guardianship, factors to consider before petitioning for guardianship or conservatorship, and the important distinctions between limited and expanded guardianships. Her presentation will also cover the roles, responsibilities, and legal duties of guardians and conservators.

The Profound Autism Summit brings together leaders from research, medicine, treatment, advocacy, and education to discuss the needs and support of those with Profound Autism across disciplines and throughout the lifespan. The term “Profound Autism,” first proposed by The Lancet Commission in their December 2021 report, refers to autistic individuals who have significant intellectual and communication challenges, requiring 24/7 support. This classification highlights the distinct needs of this population and gives families, advocates, and providers a way to describe the unique challenges faced by this group.

Fellow panelist Meredith Greene will cover essential estate planning tools including wills, revocable trusts, and health care proxies, with a focus on creating special needs trusts to secure the long-term care and support of individuals with profound autism.

Grenier’s expertise in guardianship law and her dedication to serving families affected by profound autism make her an invaluable resource for attendees.

The panel will not offer Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
