A Note From Frederick M. Misilo:

I am honored to report that I have been elected to serve as Chair of the Board of Directors of The Arc US Foundation based in Washington, DC.  The mission of The Arc US Foundation is to promote, support, and further the interests and mission of The Arc of the United States.

The Arc is the largest national community-based organization advocating for and with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and serving them and their families.  The Arc works tirelessly to uphold the vision that every individual and family living with I/DD in the United States has access to the information, advocacy, and skills they need to support their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes.  With nearly 600 state and local chapters, The Arc’s network is on the frontlines from first breath to last to ensure that people with I/DD have the support and services they need to be fully engaged in their communities.

The Arc’s current top priorities are to protect Medicaid’s health and home and community-based services that people with disabilities rely on to live with independence in their community and to ensure that children with disabilities receive appropriate special education services in our nation’s schools.

My role includes expanding the base of support for The Arc to achieve its priorities, serving as a brand ambassador to increase awareness of this valuable non-profit organization and to provide strategic advice to The Arc’s national board of directors.

If you’d like to demonstrate your support for the work of The Arc US Foundation, including protecting and supporting Medicaid and the right of all children with disabilities to have access to free, appropriate public education, please take a moment to contribute here:  Donate

Thank you!

Fred Misilo
